Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional person to add to our management team in the role of Controller. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, detail oriented, and well organized, possessing prior experience accurately performing the accounting functions in a manufacturing setting. This position supervises a three member team responsible for all fiscal operations and general office support.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

-Monitor, enforce, and amend (when necessary) financial policies, procedures, internal controls, and reporting systems to maximize the protection and efficient operation of all fiscal assets.

-Process payroll to ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations.

-Review transactions in the ERP system and perform cycle counts of the inventory therein, analyzing/addressing any variances.

-Compile and reconcile financial statements, monitor fiscal reports and identify cost-saving measures.

-Record all journal entries, reviewing for accuracy.

-File sales and use tax; properly document and manage the tax status of all customers.

-Provide tax records and supporting documentation for third party tax return preparation.

-Evaluation of the accounting software and supporting database to ensure effectiveness.

-Monitor factors that affect labor and overhead rate, updating rates when needed.

-Generate ad hoc reports as requested by management for specific issues or areas of concern.

-Manage all AR/AP terms for vendor and customer relationships.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

-Bachelor degree in Accounting

-5 years experience in the accounting field with exposure to financial, managerial, tax, cost, and audit accounting

-Experience managing a team of accounting professionals, scheduling the work of an accounting department, or assisting in the development of junior accounting personnel

PREFERRED:

-Current license to practice as a CPA in North Carolina

-Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
