    Position Summary:

    The Survey CAD Technician completes projects by preparing survey plans and documents in accordance with client and company specifications. The Survey CAD Technician transforms raw data from field survey crews into accurate, electronically generated survey drawings. Working under the direction of a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or Project Manager, this role bridges field measurements and office design.

    Key Responsibilities:

    In support of client requirements, qualified candidates shall have experience in all aspects of land surveying in metes & bounds states. Candidates shall also have experience in Public Lands surveying, field survey, aerial imagery and perform boundary resolution using deed descriptions. Ideal candidates will be required to perform the following tasks:

    · Data Processing: Import, reduce, and check raw field data collected via GPS, robotic total stations, and data collectors.

    · Drafting & Design: Prepare field-to-finish boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, topographic maps, as-built plans, subdivision plats and easement exhibits using AutoCAD Civil 3D.

    · Research: Search public records, deeds, easements, and county/city maps to support boundary retracement and working sketches for field crews

    · Calculations: Perform closure, horizontal, boundary analysis, and construction stakeout math computations.

    · Quality Control: Perform QA/QC checks on drawings, legal descriptions, and point files before final submittal.

    · Collaboration: Coordinate with field crews, project managers, and engineers to resolve data discrepancies and meet project deadlines.

    · Review tract locations on GIS sites

    · Retrieve additional information as needed.

    · Occasional field work using GPS equipment.

    · Additional duties as required.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    · Education: High school diploma required; Associate degree in CAD, drafting, land surveying, or civil engineering technology; CST certification a plus but not required

    · Experience: 3 to 5+ years of progressive land surveying and CAD drafting experience

    · Software Proficiency: 3 to 5+ years of experience and strong technical working knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D v. 2016 or higher; experience with Carlson Software is a plus.

    · Technical Skills: Solid foundation in mathematics (algebra, geometry, and trigonometry) used in surveying; excellent word processing and reading comprehension skills.

    · Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills to interact with municipalities, clients and team members

    Salary/Wage:

    · $25.00 - $38.50 per hour; overtime available

    · Rate commensurate with qualifications and experience.
