A well-established, multidisciplinary engineering firm is seeking a Field Survey Technician to join its survey team supporting transportation, land development, and industrial projects in the Newark, Delaware area.

What You’ll Be Doing
Working alongside experienced crew leaders and survey professionals, you’ll assist with:
- Operating and assisting with survey equipment including total stations, GPS, data collectors, and auto-levels
- Collecting and recording accurate field measurements, notes, sketches, and digital data
- Running bench loops, cross-sections, and elevation shots
- Setting targets and assisting operators with angle, distance, and elevation measurements
- Searching for, recovering, and setting property corners and survey monumentation
- Supporting topographic surveys, boundary surveys, and construction stakeout
- Performing physical field work such as clearing brush, carrying equipment, and setting stakes
- Supporting a variety of projects including DOT/transportation, industrial sites, and public facilities
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) plus 1+ year of experience in field surveying, construction, or a related outdoor technical role
OR
- Associate’s Degree in Surveying Technology or a related discipline (Recent and upcoming graduates are encouraged to apply)
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work
Preferred (Not Required):
- Formal education in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field
- Exposure to modern survey methods, best practices, and technologies
- Experience with robotic total stations, GPS, Leica equipment, or laser scanning
- Basic familiarity with CAD or GIS software
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
