Survey Manager / Professional Land Surveyor - Roseville, CA
We are seeking a highly experienced and licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to take on a leadership role as Survey Manager in our Roseville, CA office. The ideal candidate is a California-licensed professional with deep experience in the private development sector who can effectively manage a survey team while remaining hands-on in production work. This is a critical position for an individual ready to lead and grow a thriving survey practice.
Job Summary
The Survey Manager will lead and oversee all aspects of land surveying projects from initial scope to final certification. This role requires a blend of management, production, client interaction, and business development skills. The manager must be able to lead a talented team, provide technical guidance, and maintain the ability to "dive in" and execute production work, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and quality. Manage a diverse portfolio of land surveying projects, including but not limited to: boundary, topographic, ALTA surveys, final parcel maps, subdivision maps, legal descriptions, and construction staking surveys.
Desired Qualifications:
Licensure: Current and valid Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in California is mandatory.
Experience: 5+ years of experience managing complex land survey projects, specifically in the private development arena (mapping, ALTA surveys, legal descriptions, etc.).
Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of surveying principles, practices, and equipment (including GPS, robotic total stations, and data collectors).
Software Proficiency: Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and industry-standard survey software (such as Trimble Business Center or similar).
Management Skills: Proven ability to manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
Experience working with both private development and public infrastructure projects.
Established relationships with local municipalities and reviewing agencies in the Greater Sacramento area.
