Position Overview
Ripple Effect Consulting is seeking a Survey Team Leader to join our Survey and Geomatics group in Denver, Colorado.

This leadership role is responsible for overseeing survey operations from project planning through final delivery. The Survey Team Leader will guide both field and office staff, ensure high-quality outputs, and support team development. Success in this role requires a balance of technical expertise, project management, and strong interpersonal leadership in a fast-paced environment. Key areas of focus include boundary analysis, project scoping and pricing, QA/QC oversight, scheduling, and client coordination. A well-rounded background across survey disciplines—such as boundary, topographic, geodetic control, transportation, subsurface utility, ROW, and ALTA surveys—is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver surveying and mapping solutions aligned with project and program objectives
Lead, mentor, and delegate work to technical staff to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables
Perform complex boundary analysis and prepare plats, legal descriptions, and supporting documentation
Complete advanced survey calculations and data analysis
Contribute to right-of-way plan development and conduct QA/QC reviews
Prepare and review survey reports, exhibits, and legal descriptions
Develop project scopes, schedules, and cost estimates
Implement and uphold quality assurance and quality control standards
Provide technical leadership during project planning and proposal development
Oversee team workload, scheduling, and overall performance
Manage staffing needs, including hiring, supervision, and development of survey personnel
Foster team growth through coaching, training, and career development initiatives
Support business development efforts, including proposals, estimates, and client presentations
Maintain oversight of survey equipment and fleet resources
Represent the organization in client meetings, industry events, and other professional settings
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field, or equivalent experience (8+ years)
Active Colorado Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license, or ability to obtain licensure
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams
Advanced technical proficiency with industry tools, including Microsoft Office, Trimble equipment/software, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and MicroStation platforms (OpenRoads, InRoads, GeoPAK)
Experience coordinating field crews, planning workloads, and managing survey operations
Strong client-facing skills with the ability to establish and maintain project standards
Adaptability and responsiveness to evolving project needs and industry trends
Valid driver’s license with a clean, insurable record
