Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Surveyor to provide critical layout, verification, and as-built data for energy infrastructure construction in Liberty, TX. The Surveyor will work closely with civil engineers, site managers, and contractors to ensure accuracy in all phases of land development, grading, and equipment placement.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform field surveys for construction layout, topography, and boundary confirmation
• Set control points, benchmarks, and stakeout lines for excavation, foundations, and utilities
• Verify grades, slopes, and alignments during and after installation
• Conduct as-built surveys and prepare post-construction reports
• Operate total stations, GPS equipment, data collectors, and laser levels
• Maintain detailed survey notes, records, and digital models for QA/QC and engineering review
• Coordinate with engineers, superintendents, and subcontractors for layout adjustments
• Ensure all work complies with safety protocols, project specifications, and survey standards
Qualifications
• 2+ years of construction or civil surveying experience
• Proficient in GPS (Trimble, Topcon, or Leica), robotic total stations, and field data collection software
• Familiarity with reading construction drawings, site plans, and utility layouts
• Ability to perform field work in varying terrain and weather conditions
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently on site
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to nearby project locations
Preferred Qualifications
• Survey Technician Certificate or Associate's/Bachelor's in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field
• Experience with solar, battery, utility, or infrastructure projects
• Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar)
• Knowledge of Texas land boundaries, DOT standards, and public easements
