    Job Summary

    Cook to order a variety of foods that require only a short preparation time. Cook meats, fish, vegetables, soups, and other hot food products as well as prepare and portion food products prior to cooking. Also, perform other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items and preparing appropriate garnishes.

    Responsibilities

    SUSHI ROLLER RESPONSIBILITIES

    Expertly cutting, slicing, and filleting different types of fish.

    Inspecting the quality of fruits, vegetables, and fish used to prepare sushi dishes.

    Preparing various types of sushi dishes according to established guidelines on quality, portion size, presentation, and food safety.

    Maintaining a clean work environment in order to prevent food contamination.

    Regularly taking inventory of food supplies and other products.

    Communicating with wait staff to ensure that special requests and food allergy considerations are met.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    Relevant culinary qualification and experience in preferred.

    Ability to read, write and speak, and communicate in basic English preferred

    Serv Safe certifications (can be acquired after employment)

    Qualifications Essential Requirements:

    Must be at least 18 years of age

    Be able to stand, walk, and carry food for long periods of time

    English reading and communications skills

    Strong attention to detail

    Ability to identify and prioritize tasks to maintain high-quality guest service

    Ability to effectively implement the three C's: coordination, Consolidation, and communication

    Ability to obtain necessary food and liquor permits

    Preferred Skills:

    Prior restaurant or retail experience

    Previous experience in a fast-paced high-volume environment
