Sushi Helper

Position: Sushi Helper Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time Department: Kitchen

Job Summary

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Sushi Helper to support our sushi kitchen team. The ideal candidate will assist with food preparation, maintain a clean and organized workstation, and help the sushi chefs with daily kitchen operations.

Responsibilities

Prepare and portion ingredients such as vegetables, rice, sauces, and other sushi components.

Wash, cut, and organize ingredients according to kitchen standards.

Assist sushi chefs with food preparation and basic kitchen tasks.

Keep workstations, utensils, equipment, and kitchen areas clean and sanitized.

Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures.

Properly store and label food ingredients.

Help with receiving and organizing kitchen supplies.

Assist with dishwashing and general kitchen cleaning when needed.

Maintain a fast, organized, and efficient work environment.

Follow instructions from sushi chefs and kitchen management.

Qualifications

Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred but not required.

Willingness to learn sushi preparation and kitchen techniques.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Good teamwork and communication skills.

Reliable, punctual, and dependable.

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift kitchen supplies when necessary.

Food handler certification is a plus, if required by local regulations.
