POSITION SUMMARY

The Financial Analyst will have responsibilities within the Finance area of the bank to assist the department with completing deadlines and enhancing accuracy of data reporting and model management.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

DATA MANAGEMENT  

Master use of the Financial Enterprise Management System (Axiom) used in Accounting and Finance. The position will be an integral part of the system’s adoption and ongoing utilization.

• Database management, data mapping, data analysis, system updates and maintenance, and model management.

GENERAL FINANCE

Work collaboratively within the Finance Department to help complete and improve department objectives.  Department objectives include but are not limited to:  

• Budgeting
• Forecasting
• Asset Liability Management
• Profitability
• Financial Modeling and what-if scenarios
• Capital Planning
• Incentive Compensation Management
• Internal Financial Reporting
• Liquidity Management

OTHER

• Assess current business processes and provide recommendations for new methods to enhance analytics.
• Ability to pull out and highlight important trends from large datasets
• Work on projects as assigned and directed by the Senior Financial Analyst.
• Ensuring compliance with the Bank’s established guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Understands and agrees to abide by the policies and procedures established by Susser Bank.
• Performs duties in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Maintains the security and confidentiality of pertinent information and records.
• Maintains current and up-to-date knowledge and continues professional development through training as applicable.

• Performs additional duties as assigned or directed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analysis, Finance, Accounting, Math/Statistics or a related field is preferred.
• At least 2 years prior experience in financial analyst and reporting role is preferred but not required. 
• Technical desire to work with data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
• Working knowledge of SQL and SQL query writing skills experience.
• Understanding of data warehouse concepts.
• Experience creating KPIs and dashboards to provide better visibility into operating performance, while identifying areas for process enhancement.

SKILLS Proficient using advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.

• Strong financial system querying skills with understanding of data scrubbing and normalization techniques.
• The ability to take data sources and identify key takeaways in a concise manner with limited direction.
• Computer proficient with strong presentation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to exhibit sound, and accurate judgment and make timely decisions.
• The ability to manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously.
• The ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner by skillfully gathering and analyzing information, facts, data, etc.
• Willing to be held accountable for highly critical decisions and situations.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional appearance, self-motivated and dependable.
• Must be COVID Vaccinated.
