    POSITION SUMMARY

    This position is responsible for advancing the Swagelok brand to a position where customers think of Swagelok as a Solutions Provider. In addition, the Marketing Specialist is responsible for preparing a marketing communications plan while collaborating with the Distributor and leadership team to help grow sales. The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously is vital to the success of this role.

     ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    • Assist Distributor in articulating and communicating his/her vision to the internal staff in a planned program.

    • Researches, analyzes, and monitors the financial, technological and demographic factors that may affect the present and future growth of our products and services, and can make recommendations to the leadership team.

    • Help brand the distributorship including assisting with the key value propositions to customer segments as well as positioning key customer touch points (i.e., identity system, signage, interior design elements, letterhead, lunch and learns, trade shows, events, etc.)

    • Support the sales function by increasing awareness and consideration for the new product or service commercialization.  (i.e.: product video creation for internal and external use)

    • Plan and coordinate both on-site, and off-site customer events which could include:

      • Trade-Shows, Lunch & Learns, Customer Training, Executive Presentations, Customer Tours, Corporate Visits, etc.
    • Develop and execute innovative communications and marketing plans regarding the distributor web site, and other online platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram etc.)

    • Collaborate with communications specialists to stay current on communication trends via the discussion boards, peer groups, webinars and conferences

    • Coordinate communications and extrapolate data by leveraging the distributor CRM initiatives

    • Manage project timeliness and deliverables in support of integrated campaign, garnering the proper approvals for messaging and budgets.

    • Responsible for communicating progress and activities to key members of the distributorship and the greater associate base as directed by the distributor.  

    • Foster positive relationships across departments including Sales, Operations, Finance, Custom Solutions, etc.

    • Recognize potential conflicts and work with management and Human Resources in a proactive method to resolve.

    MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Education:  Bachelors’ degree, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or Marketing Degree preferred

    • Experience:  Demonstrated successful ability to create clear communications

    •  5-7 years previous experience in marketing communications role

    EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE:

    • Demonstrates a complete and thorough understanding of local company policies, strategies, our quality system (SQS), employee manual and Swagelok corporate policies.
    • Ability to provide clear and concise answers to questions.
    • Strong written communication and oral presentation skills
    • Attention to detail and accuracy are very important
    • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
    • Demonstrates ability to integrate overall strategy into everyday communications
    • Seeks to always improve all facets of his/her performance and the company’s performance.
    • Ability to be creative in problem solving techniques
    • Innovative with a strong passion for driving process improvements and results
    • Proactively makes well thought out business proposals to management
    • Fully understands and excels with the Swagelok VIP (value impact partnership) program

    OFFICE EQUIPMENT AND/OR SOFTWARE KNOWLEDGE:

    • Advanced understanding of: Microsoft Office Suite, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
    • Proficient in Adobe Pro DC, Filmora (video editing software), or other comparable software
    • Customer relationship management software – Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, Zoho, or other comparable software
    • Website creation & management software such as Sitecore
    • Experience in SAP business system environment is recommended

    PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • The employee is regularly required to verbally communicate
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.
    • Must be able to stand and move intermittently throughout the work day.
    • Must possess sight/hearing senses to adequately perform the functions of the job. 
    • May be required to lift equipment; supplies up to fifty (50) pounds

    WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURES

    • Work is normally performed in a climate controlled office or other human factors friendly environment.
    • Noise level is moderate and includes sounds of a normal office environment.
    • No environmental hazards are encountered in performance of normal job duties.
    • Ability to sit for extended periods may be required
