We deliver secure, high-quality language solutions in 80+ spoken and signed languages for USCIS and other federal agencies.

    We are seeking Swahili Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Swahili is a priority African language often required in asylum, refugee, and immigration cases, making this role essential for accurate communication.

    Responsibilities

    Provide real-time Swahili ↔ English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers, applicants, and stakeholders.

    Interpret with accuracy, impartiality, and professionalism in immigration, legal, and administrative contexts.

    Maintain confidentiality and adhere to USCIS/DHS compliance standards.

    Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge calls.

    Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality audits.

    Qualifications

    Native or near-native fluency in Swahili and English.

    2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, community, healthcare, legal, or government preferred).

    Familiarity with interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural awareness.

    Strong telephone communication and problem-solving skills.

    Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 clearance.
