    This will be the BEST JOB you have ever had!!! SwimKids Swim School is excited to announce that we have immediate SUMMER and YEAR-ROUND openings for part-time Swim Coaches / Instructors in our Leesburg location!

    We are looking for reliable, responsible individuals with high energy and enthusiasm. Previous coaching experience or a swimming background is not necessary - we provide PAID training for all necessary certifications and will teach you everything you need to know in order to thrive and be a successful member of our SwimKids team!

    Available Shifts and hours Include: mornings, evenings, weekends - year around and summer

    Qualifications & Requirements:

    1. Love to work with children of all ages (6 months - 15 years old)

    2. Willing and eager to be coached by teammates and managers

    3. Positive attitude with high energy

    4. Team player who is dependable and reliable

    5. Ability to work in the water for periods of at least 5 hours at a time

    6. Minimum Age of 15 (Any applicant under the age of 16 must be able to obtain a Virginia work permit, prior to starting and have a current lifeguard certification. This state requirement is for 15 year-old applicants only)

    7. Complete 40 hours of training

    8. Able to work afternoon/evening and weekend shifts

    9. Embrace and commit to the SwimKids Mission: "Provide the Best Lesson Experience for Swimmers, Parents and Staff!" Physical Job Requirements:

    Able to be in the water for up to 5 hours consecutively

    Ability to lift a child, in the water, between the ages of 2 years old and 10 years old (25 to 55 lbs.)

    Ability to stand on hard flooring continuously for at least 5 hours

    Responsibilities:

    Ensure safety by maintaining line of sight of each swimmer throughout their swim lesson

    Teach your swimmers the SwimKids Swim School Progressions by delivering impactful lessons each day

    Effectively manage classes of 3-6 children at a time

    Commit to teaching your swimmers important life skills such as self-esteem and self-confidence

    Complete required trainings and be a continual learner

    Handle all incidents in a manner appropriate to your training

    Be a consistent and dependable coach for your swimmers - they look forward to seeing you every week

    Deliver excellent customer service to all that utilize our facility

    COVID19 Response:

    We’re committed to doing everything we can to maintain a safe and healthy workplace. Our water exceeds all health requirements with our inline ultraviolet (UV) system in addition to maintaining proper chemical balance. We are reducing our capacity in accordance with local and state guidelines and our facilities are set up for proper social distancing. We’ve established protective protection standards for all of our staff, such as face shields and/or protective masks. In addition, we practice staff wellness questioning before each and every shift and are exercising frequent hand-washing. Our facilities have been deep cleaned. The organization has invested in nightly professional cleaning and we’ve introduced and established new hard surface cleaning practices.

    We are relying heavily on CDC and local health department information in establishing safe working conditions and will continue to make our best efforts to keep the workplace safe.
