    WHAT WE DO

    Swimply is an online marketplace that allows owners of underutilized swimming pools to monetize their pools downtime by sharing them locally by the hour. Think Airbnb, but for swimming pools.

    HOW WE STARTED

    Swimply was founded by Bunim Laskin in 2019. As the eldest of 12 siblings and lacking resources for his family to escape the heat, Bunim thought of offering his neighbor financial assistance in exchange for some pool time. Before long, others in the community cut similar deals with her and she was turning a handsome profit. The rest is history.

    OUR MISSION

    Our mission is to extend the sharing economy beyond the functional to the experiential. We will do this by building an authentic community-driven marketplace that democratizes access and enhances quality of life for the average family. Our current focus is on swimming pools but we will incrementally expand the platform to include all kinds of underutilized spaces (so long as theyre awesome).

    We believe that ownership can be smarter, better, and more meaningful. Helping owners earn an income from their underutilized assets reduces the financial anxiety of ownership and simultaneously fosters community.

    We envision a world in which anyone, anywhere, can access anything with the tap of a button -from their very own tennis court or swimming pool to home gyms and even music studios - regardless of their economic status.

    WHERE WE ARE NOW

    Swimply experienced incredible rapid growth (4,000% YoY), largely driven by customer love, word-of-mouth, and robust media coverage. In just the last six months, over 3,000 pools have been listed in the US, over 45,000 transactions have been completed (up from 1,000 transactions in 2019), and over 200,000 swimmers have enjoyed a stranger's pool.

    Swimply recently signed a $10M SERIES A led by Norwest Venture Partners. We are now building a top tier team to take the product to the next level and capitalize on the massive growth opportunities in front of us. ABOUT THE ROLE

    Swimply is looking for an ambitious, energetic, highly charismatic, creative, results-driven Host Development Manager to help us expand our growing number of Swimply hosts. As Host Development Manager, You will be the front of the company and will have the dedication to create and apply an effective sales strategy to take hosts from consideration to actively listed on our platform. The goal is to drive sustainable host growth through boosting active swimming pool listings and inventory while forging strong conversion rates with hosts.

    Youll help define our sales and host acquisition and conversion strategy, define KPIs, and make sure all the tracking is in place to observe results. Were looking for someone who has performed in a customer conversion machine with tangible results. Youll be a player / coach who gets your hands dirty while building out the team. Previous marketplace experience is a strong plus. This position will report directly to our VP of Revenue.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Expand Swimply host base by warm outreach and cold-calling and cold-emailing prospects to help them become aware of Swimply and the value our platform will bring to them
    • Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial growth and new host acquisition
    • Identify partnership opportunities. Forge and develop relationships to enable continued rapid growth and service expansion at Swimply
    • Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs
    • Arrange business meetings with prospective hosts and partners
    • Generate and manage a high volume of high quality leads for new hosts
    • Prepare listing agreements ensuring adherence to established policies and guidelines
    • Keep records of conversions, revenue, invoices and the like
    • Provide trustworthy feedback and after-sales support
    • Develop entry level staff into valuable salespeople, when appropriate

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Proven working experience in sales and/or business development manager, or a relevant role
    • Proven sales track record with phone sales experience
    • Experience in customer support is a plus
    • Market knowledge
    • Communication and negotiation skills
    • Ability to build rapport
    • Time management and planning skills
    • BSc/BA in business administration, sales or relevant field, or equivalent in experience
    • Ability to travel
    • This position is based on the West Coast, preferably SF, LA, SD
