    Staffing Manager Job Description

    Reports to: General Manager/Aquatics Director

    Description:

    Drive successful Swimtastic business through excellence in overall management of the staff with emphasis on business operations, employee management including Human Resources, Hiring, Training, Evaluating, and Team Building.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

    Business Operations –works closely with the location owner to set up and maintain staff at all 3 SW Florida locations while following policies and procedures within the Swimtastic Franchise structure. In charge of the scheduling software including the overall operational schedule of the business and all staff schedules. Responsible for monitoring payroll hours & staff expenses.

    Employee Management –Maintains staff by recruiting, hiring, orienting, scheduling, and training employees; ongoing management of staff; maintain a safe and secure work environment; develop a positive work culture that encourages employee growth

    Works closely with the Aquatics Director to accomplish these goals on the swim side of the business

    Responsible for training and management of all staff

    Accomplish staff results by communicating job expectations; reviewing and appraising job results with regular evaluations; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.

    Must find subs for when staff is absent and/or be prepared to cover lessons

    In-Service water training and team-building exercises

    Recruit new staff from the local community (volunteers, interns, and staff options are available)

    Strong leadership skills are needed as the deck staff will report to the Staffing Manager directly

    Customer Relations –Ultimately responsible for the customer experience at Swimtastic. Must maintain quality customer service by enforcing high customer service standards amongst all employees. Analyze and resolve customer service problems, identify trends, developing and implementing improvement strategies.

    Human Resources –In addition to Employee Management duties listed above, also responsible for the ongoing administrative activities involved with staff employment. This includes, but is not limited to: management of employee policies and procedures, payroll, and employee benefits.

    Marketing–Responsible for location marketing efforts. Works closely with the Swimtastic Corporate Marketing Department to implement corporate material. Manages local grassroots efforts and community outreach to local programs. Manages all communication with current clients and future clients.

    Retail –Responsible for location retail including managing inventory levels, ordering, and sales.

    Business Development –Establishes strategic goals by gathering pertinent business, financial, service, and operations information; identifying and evaluating trends and options; choosing a course of action; defining objectives; evaluating outcomes.

    Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

    Position Qualifications and Requirements:

    2 years of management experience in staffing & management

    Extensive experience with computer scheduling software

    Experience using spreadsheets and word processing software such as Microsoft Windows

    Detail oriented: pays attention to everything, is able to trouble shoot, and make decisions

    A Team-driven leader: cares about staff and leads with the intent to build up the whole team

    Exceptional guest relations and communication skills

    Outstanding multi-tasking abilities: able to handle, and coordinate multiple schedules; keep swim instructors on time; answer calls/text - simultaneously

    Happy disposition; hospitable and caring

    Flexible schedule: will be required to work afternoon, evenings, and weekends

    Have reliable transportation ( 3 locations in SW Florida & the office work is done remotely - needs to be a self-starter)

    Must be able to pass a background check

    Preferred Skills:

    Swim Lesson and/or competitive swimming experience: knowledge of the four basic strokes, teaching curriculum, and stroke progression

    Experience with When I Work staff application

    Certifications:

    CPR-PR/AED, First Aid for Adult, Child certification

    Uniforms: The staffing Manager is required to wear Swimtastic®uniforms which include a white Swimtastic®t-shirt and royal blue shorts. Swimtastic®will provide one (1) t-shirt per calendar year per employee. Additional uniforms must be purchased by the employee from Swimtastic®at or below cost. The uniform must be maintained in a clean, professional manner. If at anytime a supervisor determines an employee’s uniform is inappropriate he/she may require the employee to purchase an additional uniform. If at any time a uniform is not being worn during assigned instructing hours a supervisor will ask you to put on your uniform. If no uniform is present you will be required to buy a new uniform or be sent home without pay without pay.

    Hours: 30 -40 hours per week

    Compensation: Commensurate with experience and skills
