    Job Title: Cyber Security Tech Writer

    Location: Washington DC Metro Area

    Clearance: Active Secret Clearance

    Swingtech is currently seeking a Cyber Security Tech Writer who is to be responsible for leading and developing technical writing support services for a civilian government agency.

    As a Cyber Security Tech Writer, you will write concise, engaging, accessible documentation that adheres to Swingtech’s style guidelines. The Cyber Security Tech Writer works under general direction of managers and senior team members.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and maintain the agency's comprehensive Information Technology and Cybersecurity policies, procedures, strategies, system documentation, and templates in accordance with agency requirements.
    • Create, update, and maintain templates, guidelines, checklists, presentations, and training guides in alignment with the RMF guidelines for the organization’s cybersecurity needs.
    • Develop memorandums, reports, project plans, performance work statements and briefings as directed.
    • Prepare, standardize, edit, and finalize documentation, incorporating information provided by system administrators, specialists, analysts, engineers and operations personnel.
    • Write, edit, and develop graphical presentations of technical information for both technical and non-technical personnel.
    • Maintain records and files of work and revisions regarding IT operational policies and procedures.
    • Develop and formalize robust quality assurance review processes of all existing and new programs and shall conduct quality assurance reviews of programs as directed.
    • Develops and maintains operational procedures documents, testing and certification of government and contractor operations personnel, and maintains training records.
    • Create informational exhibits such as document data flows, ports, protocols and services documentation, system architecture, and other necessary diagrams/charts.

    Required Qualifications and Skills:

    • BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or other related discipline
    • Five + years’ experience in writing and editing for cyber and information security program to include policies, standards and procedures, based on the NIST SP 800 series, NIST Cybersecurity and Risk Management Frameworks.
    • Strong background in cyber security operations, risks and controls identification and assessment.
    • Strong background in cyber governance, risk and compliance, including relevant experience in authoring information security policies, standards and procedures.
    • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Visio).
    • Experience gathering, analyzing, and composing technical information into clear, readable documents to be used by technical and non-technical personnel.
    • Experience editing documents to ensure grammatical correctness and conducting research to ensure the use of proper technical terminology.
    • Must have excellent research and technical writing skills, with the ability to independently research and author cyber and information security policies, standards and procedures.
    • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to collaborate with information security and business leaders to author, socialize and publish cyber and information security policies, standards and procedures.
    • Knowledge of Federal Government SA&A practices and policies, particularly FISMA and NIST Special Publications 800 series.

    Preferred Certifications:

    • Industry recognized and accepted certifications relating to IT security preferred (CISSP, GIAC, CEH, TNCP, Security+, Network+, ITIL etc.).
