    We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Buyer at our Peterborough Head Office.

    Working within our Purchasing Department, this position will be responsible for ensuring smooth and efficient buying processes including the accurate maintenance of purchasing and supplier files, price lists and reporting. This individual will have the ability to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    Accountable for maintaining good working relationships with the branch network and division managers

    Accountable for having inventory in the right place at the right time in the right quantity

    Accountable for SKU and Data management, system coding, order entry and processing

    Accountable for adhering to lean supply chain principles

    Responsible to maintain good working relationships with the primary and secondary vendors

    Responsible to negotiate best possible pricing from vendors

    Responsible for implementing and execution of purchasing metrics

    Responsible for daily branch buying in select branches.

    Responsible for system coding and sourcing requests.

    Responsible for Excel/ Microsoft BI reporting as required

    Responsible for reviewing costing discrepancies, & actioning system corrections

    Responsible for providing administrative support to purchasing manager

    Qualifications:

    1-3 Years Purchasing Experience

    Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and its executive team

    Interpersonal skills to communicate with customers, staff and suppliers in a pleasant and professional manner

    Knowledge of products and equipment to confidently and accurately address customers’ needs

    Demonstrated experience with ERP system

    Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word and PowerPoint with emphasis on pivot tables and refreshable content

    Microsoft BI skills an asset

    Detail oriented

    Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

    Education:

    College Diploma in Marketing, Business Management or Supply Chain Management
