 Sr. Strategic Sourcing Manager with Baxter

Up to $54/hour

Hybrid (open to remote)

Job Description:

This position will be responsible for primarily supporting the 50% IT, 50% facilities, and real estate services organizations. This individual will need to be able to develop and execute category strategies, drive complex negotiations, manage supplier relationships and support key stakeholders to improve service levels and reduce total costs.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all aspects of Spend Management at your locations including the execution of programs from Global procurement as well as execution of local programs
• Develop strong, ethical relationships with World Class suppliers and ensure good business practices and consistently compliant to the Code of Ethics
• Lead supplier selection process and negotiate global contracts. Develop actionable recommendations based on a clear definition and articulation of options and tradeoffs; develops action plans that anticipate implementation problems and leverages internal and supplier capabilities while building full commitment throughout the process.
• Effectively manages long-term relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders; Responsible for supplier relationship management and risk assessment and mitigation plans, maintain and review supplier performance to ensure conformance to supplier management goals (cost, quality, service, delivery)
• Responsible for negotiations and improving spend under contract with the right SLAs; ensure
• delivery on company expectations, cost savings and capacity management
• Support development/execution of a robust category strategies that optimize total supply base, reduce dependence on single/sole sourced suppliers, deliver continuity of supply, and provide for annual year over year cost reductions.
• Deliver annual VIP (cost reductions) and PPV objectives at category and plant levels; Work with functional partners (Finance, Legal, Quality, Supply Chain, and others) to ensure plant operation schedules are met;
• Jointly, with supplier quality, address supplier quality issues on time.
• Utilizes a network of benchmarking peers to drive for Best Demonstrated Practices (BDP).

• Experience presenting to and working with senior management required
• Negotiator with knowledge of cost tools such as material breakdown, benchmarking, value analysis, value engineering, RFQs and innovative purchasing tools.
• Knowledge of root cause analysis, problem solving, continuous improvement, corrective and preventative action, product quality assurance systems and supplier performance development and evaluation.
• Financial acumen; high degree of ethics
• Ability to build strategic supplier and stakeholder relationships
• Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Education / Experience:

• Completed Bachelor's Degree required; MBA desirable. CPM preferred
• Minimum 8 years recent and relevant procurement (Execution of Strategy, RFI / RFP) experience with at least 5 years of leadership.
• Regional (North & South America) experience desirable, global experience a plus.
• Previous Contract Analysis/Legal Experience, desirable
• Software skills: Microsoft Word, Excel (pivot tables, V-lookups, Macros, reporting), PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint, Outlook, etc
