    LOCATION: ARIZONA BASED REMOTE POSITION

    Trademark Engine was established to provide trademark filing services to consumers and small businesses who do not need or cannot afford a full-service intellectual property attorney. We strive to make this process as efficient, understandable, and affordable as possible to give everyone the ability to obtain a trademark for their business.

    ABOUT YOU

    We are seeking a talented attorney to join Trademark Engine as we pursue licensure as an alternative business structure. This attorney would serve as the statutorily defined compliance lawyer required for alternative business structures. A successful applicant should have experience in intellectual property law, knowledge of law firm operations, and an interest in providing legal services to lower income individuals. The position may be full-time or part-time, depending on availability.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO:

    • Develop policies and procedures to ensure the Alternative Business Structure acts in compliance with the Arizona Professional Rules of Conduct and the Alternative Business Structure statute

    • Draft engagement agreements for clients

    • Develop ways to automate client engagement and conflicts of interest checks

    • Assist in planning the modification of existing proprietary automated processes to accommodate attorney involvement

    • Enforce policies and procedures to ensure the Alternative Business Structure remains compliant with statutory requirements throughout its operations

    • Offer assistance in the strategies and operations of the Alternative Business Structure

    • Report to the state bar regarding the Alternative Business Structure

    • Take the lead in trademark application filings with the United States Patent and Trademark Office

    • Engage with the United States Patent and Trademark Office in a representative capacity for clients

    • Supervise a team of non-attorney support staff

    WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

    • License to practice law in Arizona

    • 5+ years of legal experience

    • Experience in intellectual property law

    • Passion for professional ethics

    • Interest in business operations

    • Strong organizational skills

    • Excellent written and verbal communication

    • Strong computer skills and knowledge of law firm specific software

    • Self-motivation and ability to adapt to a fast paced environment

    • Analytical nature
