    ABOUT THE ROLE 

    As the first Business Analyst at Syapse you'll support the vision and strategy of Product Management by engaging with and capturing the voice of all stakeholders and driving organizational alignment on requirements, setting the standard for Business Analysts to come. You will work closely with the Product Management team, taking the long-term vision, business objectives, and product roadmap and translate that into requirements that capture the value we are trying to drive into a series of artifacts like requirement documents and user stories. 

     

    WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH As a Principal BA, you'll capture and understand the long term data strategy, albeit ever-changing due to the dynamic nature of the industry, through multiple avenues of research. Long term objectives are segmented into shorter term objectives and prioritized. You'll coordinate all efforts to achieve this and document and communicate all outcomes. Once short term objectives are prioritized they are initiated via a project. Through your organization and documentation, you'll enable many aspects of our mission to improve outcomes for cancer patients.

    Here are some specific things you'll accomplish in your early days at Syapse:

    • Owning all Product Requirements across the Ingestion, Knowledge Management, and Platform systems. 
    • Build trust and buy-in by stakeholders of the requirement documents, so that they are comfortable partnering on transitional documents downstream of the requirements (e.g. design documents or architectural diagrams). 
    • Establish the trust and relationships with data product managers, so that they can support but not own the requirement process and other day-to-day decisions necessary to deliver on the roadmap.

    • CUSTOMER OBSESSION: You will start with the customer and work backwards. You'll work vigorously to earn and keep customer trust. Although you pay attention to competitors, you obsess over customers. You think like our customers, role play as customers, and worry about what customers are worrying about.
    • STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT: You interact with and elicit requirements from stakeholders as well as ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned. 
    • ACCOUNTABLE ACHIEVER: You thoughtfully consider and address each problem that arises, oftentimes anticipating them before they come up.
    • HIGH STANDARDS: You ensure that tech debt and defects don't get lost in an effort to capture all requirements. You make sure that all requirements solve real business problems. You benchmark yourself and your teams against the best.
    • SUPERIOR JUDGEMENT: You have strong judgment and good instincts. You seek diverse perspectives and work to disconfirm your beliefs. You farm for dissent without risking analysis paralysis. You can justify your decisions to anyone in a way that earns trust.
