Our firm is hiring an Associate Attorney who will be ready to advocate zealously for our clients throughout the litigation process by conducting legal research, drafting documents, maintaining client files, and handling trials. The ideal candidate must have at least 3 years of litigation experience and strong legal research and writing skills. Responsibilities: • Attend court hearings or other legal proceedings, perform legal research, and work with senior associate attorneys to provide legal advice • Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings • Review client issues on legal matters, analyze available options, and diligently work to determine the best course of action • Communicate directly with clients and opposing counsel regarding issues relating to case • Meet court deadlines and internal deadlines • Maintain excellent communication with clients • Stay abreast of developments in the law Qualifications: • Completion of a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school • Effective communication skills and problem-solving skills are necessary to work with all levels of staff and clients • Licensed to practice law in the State of Maryland • At least 3 years of litigation experience preferably in family law • Ability to handle a case file from intake to trial. Compensation: $90,000 - $110,000
