In healthcare, temporary physicians are known as “locum tenens” doctors - Latin for “placeholder.” For the last 40 years, the locums staffing market has been controlled by agency incumbents that are richly incentivized for poor outcomes.
Locums agencies are rewarded when they hire cheap, barely qualified physicians, yet charge hospitals a fortune, often at a markup of 25-70% above the physician’s wages. Physicians are viewed as a commodity and the industry has set itself up to “buy low and sell high” in a way that can become dangerous for patients and doesn’t reward the best physicians. It’s no wonder that the locums industry is loathed by hospitals all over the country - viewed as a “necessary evil.”
With Sycamore, healthcare facilities pay us a flat rate of 9.75%, incentivizing us to find the best physicians available. Hospitals are able to afford higher-performing physicians for much less than they’re paying an agency because more of the budget is going directly to the physician. And, physicians love it because they gain independence and flexibility over their schedules without taking a big pay cut.
ABOUT THE JOB:

In your role as Clinical Account Manager, you will be responsible for building and nurturing relationships with our physician and hospital partners. As part of our scrappy, start-up minded team, you’ll exercise a combination of sales and entrepreneurship skills.
Our team is largely made up of industry-outsiders. We operate with a scrappy mindset, using our collective skills to infiltrate an industry full of huge incumbents that have spent decades taking advantage of both sides of the physician staffing market. You’ll fit in well if you love tackling new endeavors and taking ownership of outcomes.
We need your help recruiting more physicians and hospitals into our network so that we can continue to cut out the agency middlemen and connect independent physicians directly with facilities for short-term and long-term staffing.

$3k/mo salary + an uncapped commission plan that rewards all employees who take ownership of the success of our facility clients and physician partners. A successful first-year commission is $5K-$10K, but is uncapped.
