We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Revenue Management to join our team. A successful candidate will have a proven track record of success in a prior DORM role, in-depth knowledge of current DC hotel market trends, a genuine passion for the hospitality industry and an entrepreneurial spirit.
Responsibilities
To maximize overall room revenue on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis as well as direct yield strategies to achieve or exceed budgeted room revenues and market share penetration goals.
Prepare and analyze daily, weekly and monthly segmentation pace reports and set and implement selling strategies based on pace and market conditions.
Manage the Reservations Department staff ensuring that proper selling strategies and standard operating procedures are in place and adhered to.
Prepare agenda, and lead the weekly Revenue Management Strategy meeting, to include critiques, tracking, competitive analysis and future strategies for all market segments.
Collaborate with Marketing and Sales leaders on all matters relating to room revenue, and provide room revenue and occupancy forecasts for operational departments.
To assist in creating the Rooms Revenue Budget and Market penetration goals annually.
Respond to internal and external Revenue and Reservations inquiries or requests and provide assistance as needed
Act as a liaison with other departments or functions (Operations, Front Office, F&B, etc.)
Coordinate revenue related training sessions and seminars with other hotel departments
Implement the agreed rate structure and strategy for all market segments
Establish and maintain effective employee working relations both within the department and with other departments
Attend selected trade and travel functions, i.e. trade shows and local Hotel and Convention Association meetings to promote sales and image for the hotel
Maintain close relationships with all key decision-makers both in local and international markets
Provide feedback and market information to General Manager on changing market conditions, including trends on the competition, as a result of direct sales solicitation, telephone, reading material and interaction with competitive hotel staff
Work with DOSM to propose and initiate new services and products for our guests
Work in conjunction with the Director of Finance to ensure accurate forecasting is completed
Work in conjunction with the Financial Controller and the General Manager to develop and present the annual budget
Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos and verbal instructions
Maintain “open door” communication with employees
Monitor and develop employee performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, conducting counseling, evaluations, setting annual goals and delivering recognition and reward
Be familiar with all safety and emergency procedures including OSHA requirements
Attend relevant meetings
To perform other functions as required and directed.
Additional Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management or related fields preferred, and prior experience as Director of Revenue required.
Knowledge of the Washington DC hotel market.
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English. Requires good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts. Ability to calculate and analyze trends and pace. Ability to work with Excel spreadsheets.
Ability to provide clear and concise data, analyze, instruction and guidance to both internal and external audiences as appropriate.
Proficient in Microsoft, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Detailed knowledge of GDS, CRS, and OTA platforms.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
Ability to sit for extended periods of time in order to continuously perform the essential job functions.
Maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per company standards.
