    We are seeking a dynamic Hotel Manager/General Manager in Training to join our team. This candidate will work at The LINE Austin as a Hotel Manager and will train to become a future LINE General Manager. A successful candidate will have a genuine passion for the hospitality industry and an entrepreneurial spirit.

    Responsibilities

    Must be courteous and gracious, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times

    Establish and maintain good communications and teamwork with fellow colleagues and other departments within the hotel

    Responsible for the overall performance of hotel operations (Rooms & Food and Beverage)

    Ensure proper coverage, review weekly schedule with Department Heads including hiring & training

    Visit operating departments daily, making adjustments as needed via department heads

    Conduct weekly staff meetings, including training sessions and review of previous and future operations efforts

    Meet financial review dates and corporate directed programs in a timely fashion

    Hold a monthly financial review with all department managers

    Ensure that all department heads maintain budgeted productivity levels and hotel standard checkbook accounting procedures

    Develop managers for future advancement through competency training and corporate sponsored training programs

    Assist in creating a positive team-oriented environment which focuses on the guest, through employee development and motivation

    Inspect rooms regularly (weekly at a minimum) with both the Director of Rooms, Housekeeping Manager and Property Engineer

    Ensure complete processing of invoices daily by using the A/P process

    Ensure appropriate information for financial documents is received by the Corporate Office monthly, in compliance with the monthly accounting calendar

    Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the physical property through inspections and preventive maintenance programs with department managers

    Ensure that employees are attentive, friendly, courteous and efficient in their interactions with guests, management and all other employees

    Work with Accounting to forecast line-by-line expenses on a monthly basis and analyze previous and projected data to generate an accurate reforecast

    Interview all prospective final candidates for any vacant management position within the hotel prior to any offer being extended

    Monitor and develop department head performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, conducting counseling, evaluations, setting annual goals and delivering recognition and reward

    Professionally represent the hotel in community and industry organizations and events

    Provide constructive feedback to all departments

    Be a leader and a role model to all employees and maintain “open door” communication

    Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos and verbal instructions

    Ensure staff understands their job expectations before holding them accountable

    Maintain awareness of documentation needed and retained in employee files

    Be familiar with all safety and emergency procedures including OSHA requirements

    Attend relevant meetings

    Competencies

    Bachelor’s degree required

    At least five (5) years’ experience in a related position

    Strong ability in using MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular)

    Ability to work with PMS and POS software (i.e. Opera, Aloha, Micros)

    Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

    Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English Language

    Excellent organizational and time management skills

    Excellent attention to detail

    Ability to multitask

    Work well under pressure, be a team player
