About our Company
We Make Hotels. Sydell Group builds and operates unique properties that are a reflection of their neighborhoods, a celebration of architecture and design, and a gathering place for visitors from near and far. Our hotels are collaborations among exceptional talent from the creative, culinary, and retail worlds, and our goal is to create travel experiences that offer inspiration and a sense of connection to our respective cities. Sydell Group's diverse portfolio of award-winning hotels include NoMad New York, Los Angeles and Las Vegas; The LINE LA, DC and Austin; The Ned, London and Park MGM, Las Vegas; as well as the forthcoming NoMad London and LINE San Francisco.
As an essential part of the property team, the Creative & Culture Manager is an important cultural face of the hotel and supports the property in a variety of ways that build brand loyalty, engage our community of guests, neighbors and partners and create on-property magic. The NoMad property Creative & Culture Manager achieves these goals by developing events and cultural programming, engaging the hotel / brand’s communities in person, through social media and via creative trades, maintaining on-property touchpoints, and liaising with other departments (sales, ops, marketing, revenue and our 3rd party PR agency) to provide and maintain creative assets and communications.
A successful candidate in the Creative & Culture Manager role is a well-connected, gracious host and a champion multi-tasker – someone who thrives on a balance of in-person engagement and behind-the-scenes planning and project management. You possess the following qualities:
A network of strong, relevant contacts in the community
A talent for making guests feel welcome and cared for – you know how to throw a great party and get the right people there
A laser focus on the details and overall vibe: music, lighting, and every other element of the property experience
Creative ideas for cultural programming, with the skills and connections in relevant arts and entertainment contacts needed to execute them
Strong communication and coordination skills with the ability to manage priorities, projects and deadlines in a dynamic environment
Ability to engage and work with a variety of stakeholders internally and externally to generate awareness and excitement around property culture
In addition to the creative projects you’ll be working on, you will coordinate meetings, weekly and monthly reports, manage invoicing and payments to creative vendors and other administrative duties. While you will not be doing graphic design directly, a strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and MS office is a must, and knowledge of Basecamp is a bonus but not required.Reports to: Global Brand Director, with dotted line to Property GMTakes Direction From: VP, Creative & Culture and Sydell Creative & Marketing Team
