    Job Description

    Sylvan Road Capital (SRC) is an asset management firm focused on single-family residential investments. As a pioneer of the emerging institutional asset class of single-family rental housing, SRC takes a value investment approach to the sector. SRC oversees the complete asset lifecycle from acquisition through the exit, including portfolio and asset management, construction management, and property management.

    OBJECTIVE:

    The Vendor Management Specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day management of third-party vendors used by any of the entities under RSH, LLC further detailed in this job description below as directed by the Executive Director of Shared Services. This role will be critical in the quality management of vendors, proper documentation management, identifying business solutions, efficiencies, and savings when utilizing third parties across the organization. Additionally, this role may be asked to assist with vendor onboarding, remediation, and termination of vendors.

    THIS POSITION IS REMOTE AND MUST BE BASED IN THE EASTERN TIME ZONE.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Manage communication between internal teams and third-party vendors; representing the best interest of the company
    • Ownership of the Pathway Construction, LLC and Sylvan Field Services, LLC vendor quality program. This includes collaboration, feedback, remediation, vendor and internal communication, metric reporting, contract adherence, and KPI objectives
    • Execution of feedback loops for newly onboarded vendors for any of the entities
    • Execution of regular updates to MSAs, vendor protocols and procedures, certificate of insurance maintenance, and similar system-based vendor documentation oversight
    • Works closely with Operations business areas to understand vendor needs, gaps, feedback, quality, etc.
    • Analyzes vendor depth by market and works closely with vendor onboarding specialists and Executive Director of Shared Services to identify and close market-specific gaps
    • Manages vendor remediation and issues in a timely, respectful manner, representing the best interest of the company
    • Collaborates with Accounting and other internal departments to influence, engage, and pilot new vendor programs allowing the company to maintain or exceed market parity as it relates to vendor relations
    • Tactful handling of escalated situations, driving decisions through data and quality assurance metrics without emotion
    • Participates in internal and external meetings as needed
    • Designs and prepares regular reporting, summaries, and project plans, as needed
    • Other duties as requested by the Executive Director of Shared Services

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • 2+ years of vendor management and quality assurance related experience
    • Detail-oriented; quality-minded
    • Strong multi-tasking and project management skills
    • Moderate understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and other types of professional software systems
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills; specifically, able to work and communicate with people across various disciplines
    • Strong phone presence and customer service presentation
    • Must be able to learn the job duties, and then teach, coach, and mentor others to perform the job duties
    • Ability to influence decisions and outcomes
    • Must be able to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of programs and initiatives and recommend opportunities for improving efficiency, output, cost-reductions, etc.
    • Willingness and ability to learn new technology
    • Ability to regularly deliver, with quality, on key performance indicators (KPIs) and business metrics and objectives
    • Establish vendor management function, requirements, function, approach, reporting; ability to work in ambiguous environments
    • General understanding of construction, renovation, property operations preferred
