Interested in Robotics? Symbotic is looking passionate engineer to join our team for the summer as a Mechanical Engineering intern. This is a hands-on role, focused on mechanical design and analysis for all of our Robotic and other Material Handling technologies.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Mechanical design of mechanical parts, weldments and industrial structures.
• Selection of mechanical hardware and structural components such as fasteners, pins, inserts, keys, and raw stock and standard structural shapes.
• Responsible for modeling and drafting.
• Maintaining and generating BOMS.
• Using Solidworks and AutoCAD for layouts

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics Engineering or similar
• Ability to generate and check layouts of assemblies and generate detail fabrication drawings
• Experience with design software such as Solidworks, Autocad, or similar
• Working knowledge of engineering materials, metal fabrication processes, assembly processes and design for manufacturability
• Ability to work on cross-functional teams and build strong working relationships
• Some machining skills desirable, but not required
