Symitar Programmer (Episys Integration & Data Focus)

Job Description:

We are partnering with a well-established Credit Union to identify a skilled Symitar Programmer to support core system integration and data initiatives. This role is focused on hands-on development (not analysis), working directly within the Symitar Episys environment to enhance system connectivity, streamline data flow, and support enterprise reporting capabilities. This individual will play a key role in integrating the core banking platform with internal and third-party systems, while also contributing to data warehouse efforts and reporting infrastructure. This is an opportunity to help in modernizing and optimizing a credit union’s core technology ecosystem, with direct impact on system performance, data accessibility, and reporting capabilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and enhance programs within the Symitar Episys core system
• Design and implement integrations between Episys and other internal/external IT systems
• Build and support data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes
• Work closely with data teams to support and optimize the organization’s data warehouse environment
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and performance across systems and reporting layers
• Troubleshoot and resolve system and data-related issues within the core and integrated platforms
• Collaborate with IT, operations, and business stakeholders to support ongoing system enhancements
• Participate in testing, deployment, and documentation of solutions

Skills/Abilities:

• Strong hands-on experience programming within Symitar Episys (PowerOn preferred)
• Proven experience with system integrations involving core banking platforms
• Experience working with data, ETL processes, and data warehouse environments
• Solid understanding of credit union or financial services operations
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams

Preferred / Nice to Have

• Experience with ARCU (Advanced Reporting for Credit Unions)
• Familiarity with business intelligence and reporting tools
• Experience supporting or building reporting solutions within financial institutions
