SYMS STRATEGIC GROUP (SSG) is seeking a talented MUMPS DEVELOPER

LOCATION: Melbourne, FL.  Other U.S. based locations may be considered.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Knowledge and experience in Agile Development
• Participate in design and coding activities with other staff members
• Develop information systems by designing, developing, and installing software solutions
• Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions
• Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, and diagrams, amongst other visuals
• Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming
• Improve operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• MUMPS expertise
• Veterans Affairs Domain knowledge
• Experience in developing code, designing, testing, debugging and documenting software using Mumps programming language

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS

None

FORMAL EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software/Systems Engineering, or equivalent technical degree

YEARS OF PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

8 years MUMPS experience

8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS

Must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• VA EDI Domain knowledge highly preferred
