Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Design Engineers at SynDaver create 3D models and assemblies for medical devices and simulation. They work in collaboration with engineers to design from concepts, 3D print and prototype, and build functional tools for molding and production. Includes the study, research, and development of ideas for new products and the systems used to make them. The understanding of 3D modeling and 3D printing are essential. Positions available in Florida.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Work directly with engineering to build 3D models/assemblies, molds, and functional prototypes for new products.

·         Design and build 3D models to be used in the final manufacturing and assembly process.

·         Completion Start-Finish of designs for new products as well as digital repairs and modifications of prototypes.

·         Analyze concepts and work with clients to make recommendations for designs that will enhance functionality, improve reliability,

          enhance features, and reduce cost.

·         Analyze concepts and estimate levels of effort for creating new products.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

·         Ability to create functional 3D models and assembles based on conceptual documents, drawings, and research.

·         3D print models for prototyping and prepare final models for manufacturing.

·         Assess prototypes and improve upon models to enhance functionality.

·         Strong verbal and written communication skills.

·         Ability to plan, organize, and execute plans efficiently.

·         Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.

·         Ability to collect and analyze data to make effective contributions to the design process.

DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

·         Proficient use of design software for hard surface and/or organic 3D modeling.

·         Proficient use of 3D printers and slicing models for 3D printing.

·         Understanding of design to manufacturing process.

·         Understanding of creating designs that function as an assembly.

·         Previous experience with design and building of molds.

·         Experience in similar or related fields of study acceptable, i.e.  game art

·         Knowledge and/or interest in human or animal anatomy/physiology/form is a plus

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

·         Proficient use of Zbrush and/or CAD programs such as Fusion360.
