    Synaptic Solar is a fast-growing PV installation company changing the way the solar industry operates in Texas. Join a hardworking team of individuals bent on growth and taking advantage of the explosive business opportunities the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex area has to offer. As the head of the Design department, the Solar Engineer will lead the team in delivering code-compliant solar PV systems set for residential/commercial solar projects. This ECF position will support the other departments (including City permit, Utility Interconnection, and field foremen) with amended plans and advise on projects throughout all phases of construction. The position will also work to ensure quality design and construction while supporting the growth of a solar design team by providing guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree; prefer a Bachelor of Science degree in structural, civil, or electrical engineering.
    • Professional Structural Engineer (PE) Texas license required.
    • Proficient in NEC, IBC, and IFC knowledge.
    • Experience with design software.
    • Direct prior experience designing and installing solar systems.
    • Knowledge of electrical and structural design theory and concepts.
    • Knowledge of ECF, residential, and commercial construction with previous solar installation experience a plus.
    • NABCEP certification a plus.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
    • Valid Driver's License.
    • Must display leadership skills, looking to succeed.
    • Strong work ethic and grit.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Professional appearance and demeanor, with excellent communication skills.
    • Ability to work in a team environment as well as work independently.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
    • Ability to climb ladders and work with site assessment equipment while on elevated platforms.
    • Must be able to sit or stand at a desk and use a computer for 8+ hours per day.
    • Ability to work 40 hours per week or more if required
    • Must be able to submit to a pre-employment drug test and a background screening

    PAY RATE:

    $100,000 to $115,000 salary depending on experience and qualifications
