Syndeo Staffing has a direct-hire opportunity for a Trust Officer at a local bank. The Trust Officer will provide clients with expert advice on trust and estate matters, creating and overseeing trusts under the terms of the governing trust documents.
Essential Functions
- Assists clients with discussion regarding trust and estate planning concepts, providing options concerning types of trusts and arrangements that may be best suited for their situation.
- Collaborates with the client’s attorney to draft legal documents as requested by the client and attorney.
- Collaborates with the Trust Investment Officer to choose appropriate investments based on long-term financial goals and the best interests of the beneficiaries; ensures that fiduciary judgment is followed in the investment of trust assets.
- Administration and supervision of all aspects of accounts within the Officer’s book of business located on the MAUI system, which may include:
- Client meetings
- Distribution requests
- Annual regulatory review of accounts
- Preparation of documentation for Trust Committee actions
- Attend weekly Trust Committee meetings
- Collaborates with accountants in the preparation of various tax returns. Reviews, files, and oversees preparation and payment of applicable state and federal taxes for the trust.
- Promotes the bank’s trust services to clients, retail or commercial bank customers, community members, and business associates.
- Acts as a personal financial advisor when specified by the guidelines of the trust agreement.
- Develops relationships with centers of influence in the Wichita market
- Pursues educational opportunities to stay abreast of current fiduciary, tax, and ERISA statutes or regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, or related field required.
- Knowledge and understanding of trust laws, regulations and best practices in financial analysis and investment evaluations
- At least three years of experience with a bank, trust company, investment bank, law
- firm, or stock brokerage.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds (unassisted) as well as stand, sit, bend, kneel, squat, and walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to communicate clearly.
- Strong numeric capabilities; Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in
- all units of measure using whole numbers and common fractions.
