Job Title: IT Support Technician
Salary Range: $16-$18 per hour (Temp-to-hire)
Hours: 8 am – 5 pm (with flexibility for overtime and occasional Saturdays)
Location: On-premise (no remote work available) Wichita, KS
We are seeking a skilled IT Support Technician to join our client’s team. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a basic understanding of computer hardware, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to PCs, monitors, keyboards, and mice.
Responsibilities:
- Provide On-Site Support: Respond promptly to internal customer inquiries and requests for technical assistance with computers. Preference is given to direct on-site support, with remote assistance used when necessary.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues with PCs, monitors, keyboards, and mice. Correct communication problems between PCs and peripherals.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the IT manager to escalate and resolve complex technical issues that cannot be resolved independently.
- PC Rebuilding: Perform rebuilds on PCs as needed to maintain optimal performance and functionality.
- Equipment Inspection: Conduct daily inspections of display monitors, scheduling monitors, and clocking stations to ensure they are in working order.
- Inventory: Maintain accurate inventory records of hardware components, peripherals, and other IT equipment. Coordinate with purchasing and receiving departments to ensure timely replenishment of stock.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Thorough understanding of computer hardware components and peripherals.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently.
- C++ / PCHP Certification preferred but not required.
- Flexibility to work overtime and occasional Saturdays as needed.
- Prior experience in IT support or a related field is preferred.
- Driver’s license and insurable driving record required to travel between locations.
