At The Print Shop Restaurant we focus on Community and Relationship. As a Bar Back at our restaurant and bar, you will play a crucial role in supporting the bartending team and ensuring the smooth operation of the bar. Your responsibilities will include maintaining cleanliness, stocking supplies, assisting with setup and breakdown, and providing timely support to the bartenders. This role is essential to delivering a high-quality guest experience and keeping the bar running efficiently.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Bar Preparation and Maintenance:
- Assist in setting up the bar area before opening, ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Organize and restock glassware, utensils, straws, napkins, and other bar essentials throughout the shift.
- Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of the bar area and workstations.
2. Inventory Management:
- Monitor beverage inventory and alert the Bar Manager when supplies are running low.
- Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, including checking quantities and verifying the accuracy of orders.
3. Support Bartending Team:
- Assist bartenders with the preparation of garnishes, mixers, and other ingredients.
- Retrieve and deliver requested items to bartenders quickly and efficiently.
- Dispose of empty bottles, trash, and other waste to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
4. Glassware Maintenance:
- Collect used glassware and utensils, wash and sanitize them, and return them to the bar for reuse.
- Ensure an ample supply of clean glassware is available for the bartenders.
5. Cleaning and Sanitization:
- Clean and sanitize bar surfaces, equipment, and utensils regularly.
- Empty trash receptacles and maintain a clean bar environment throughout the shift.
6. Assistance During Service:
- Assist in delivering beverages and food items to guests when required.
- Support bartenders in handling an increased volume of orders during busy periods.
7. Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety and health regulations, including proper handling of glassware and hazardous materials.
- Assist in ensuring that the bar area is compliant with alcohol service laws and regulations.
8. Miscellaneous Tasks:
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Bar Manager or bartending team to ensure smooth operation.
Qualifications:
- No prior bartending experience required; training will be provided.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow instructions.
- Attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and organization.
-Must have a Valid ABC Permit or be able to obtain one within 30 days of being hired.
- Previous serving experience is preferred but not required.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays up stairs for extended periods.
- Ability to carry 50 lbs up and down stairs.
- Knowledge of food and beverage menus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Able to work weekends and holidays.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
