    Job Description

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • The intern will contribute to a variety of technical assistance, research, and operational activities that support evidence-based decision-making in education and family engagement.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and experts from different disciplines (for example, subject matter experts, instructional designers, writer/editors, information technology, and logistics) to complete project goals
    • Support administration and oversight the You for Youth content management system and website, including performing quality control activities, tagging items and resources for the website, and analyzing user interface data
    • Perform literature searches and reviews to support the development of e-learning courses.
    • Assist staff in the review, identification and development of tools and resources for the Y4Y site.
    • Support quantitative and/or qualitative analyses of Y4Y analytic data, including cleaning, coding, and organizing data and assisting with tagging techniques, key words and key phrases to support search engine optimization
    • Assist with organizing webinars, virtual meetings and conferences and taking meeting notes
    • Learn about managing projects by developing and tracking schedules, finances, and logistics
    • Develop spreadsheets and data bases to support project activities
    • Communicate effectively while interacting directly with colleagues, clientele, and/or other internal or external constituencies in the planning of assignments and the resolution of day-to-day operational problems
    • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Enrolled in an undergraduate program in education or the sciences.
    • Exposure to social science research methods and design and a passion for technology.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Strong organizational skills with flexibility to handle multiple tasks and work on multiple projects.
    • Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and self-directed, with strong interpersonal skills.
    • Experience or interest in meeting facilitation and planning.
    • Desire and ability to work as part of a team.
    • Use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

    Physical demands and work environment:

    • Physical demands: While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle objects and documents; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.  Employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision. Employee may use office equipment such as telephone, computer, computer software, calculator, printer, copier, and facsimile.  
    • Work environment: Employees are not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, and most responsibilities can be performed remotely.
