    Responsibilities

    The P&S Finance Analyst will support the US Seeds (SE) businesses’ P&L provisions and cost center management alongside inventory and working capital budgeting, reporting, and forecasting processes. This role will conduct and report out on monthly variances and full year forecasting to finance colleagues and senior business leaders. The P&S finance analyst will provide strategic insights, advanced financial analysis, and decision support to drive the company's growth and profitability. You will play a key role in collaborating with the Finance Lead to drive financial planning, analysis, and reporting processes, contributing to the overall financial health and strategic direction of the organization.

    Accountabilities:

    • Advanced Financial Analysis: Conduct advanced financial analysis, including complex variance analysis, scenario modeling, and trend forecasting to provide insights into the company's financial performance.
    • Financial Planning and Forecasting : Lead the development of annual budgets, long-term financial plans, and periodic forecasting processes, working closely with business units to align financial goals with strategic objectives.
    • Business Partnering: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights, support strategic initiatives, and evaluate the financial impact of business decisions.
    • Financial Modeling and Valuation: Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models for valuation, investment analysis, and strategic decision support, incorporating risk assessment and sensitivity analysis.
    • Monthly Variance and Reconciliation: Investigate monthly variances and ensure accurate reflection in full year risk and opportunities and latest outlooks * Manage and lead the P&S sites on discard analysis and reviews along with cleaning up soybean discards and grower review analysis. * Working capital reconciliation for inventory at site levels, returnable packaging, and support trade AP. * Provide functional expense support to business and finance stakeholders. Works with teams to build annual budgets, ensure month-end close activities are complete, understand monthly variances to budget, and review results with business heads and finance leadership.
    • Budgeting and Costing Coordination: Support the Management Reporting Lead on the P&S costing and budgeting coordination including cost center templates by corn and soybean site, PPT tables, and overall automation in SAC and SAP systems (including reporting and summarization of financial data).
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Critical Knowledge:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, economics and/or related field of study

    Critical Experience:

    • 5+ years progressive experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and strategic planning, preferably within the agriculture or related industry.
    • Advanced knowledge of financial planning, modeling techniques, cost analysis, and benchmarking.
    • Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting processes, data analysis tools/software, and budgeting processes.
    • Strong understanding of supply and manufacturing concepts or supply chain processes
    • Advanced proficiency in financial analysis tools and business software (e.g., Excel, financial modeling software, SAP, Qlik, PowerBi).

    • Strategic Financial Analysis : Advanced ability to provide strategic financial analysis and data-driven insights that drive informed decision-making and support the company's growth and profitability objectives.
    • Effective Communication : Clear and effective communication skills to convey complex financial information to stakeholders, enabling them to make well-informed decisions based on the analysis provided.
    • Cross-functional Collaboration: The capacity to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, and marketing, to understand their financial needs and provide valuable analytical support.
    • Adaptability and Innovation: The ability to adapt to changing business environments and industry dynamics, while also bringing innovative financial solutions and insights to the table.
    • Process Improvement: Proactively identifying opportunities for process improvement within the finance function, enhancing financial reporting, analysis capabilities, and decision support tools.

    • Complex Industry Dynamics : Understanding and navigating the complexities of the agriculture and seeds industry, including factors such as seasonality, commodity pricing, and regulatory changes.
    • Data Management : Managing and analyzing large volumes of financial and operational data to derive meaningful insights and forecasts, while ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
    • Balancing Short-term and Long-term Priorities : Balancing the need to provide immediate financial insights and support with the longer-term strategic financial planning and analysis requirements of the organization.
    • Cost Management in Agriculture : Addressing the challenges of cost management and optimization within the agricultural context, including factors such as fluctuating input costs and supply chain complexities.
    • Technology and Tools : Staying abreast of advancements in financial technology and tools to ensure efficient and accurate financial analysis and reporting, while also integrating these tools into existing systems and processes.
    • 5% Travel Required : Expectation to be on site and meeting with production and supply chain leaders to influence strategy and implement productivity measures across the NA organization.
