    The Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS) is a non-profit, bipartisan public policy organization established in 1962 to provide strategic insights and practical policy solutions to decision makers concerned with global security and prosperity. Over the years, it has grown to be one of the largest organizations of its kind, with a staff of some 200 employees, including more than 120 analysts working to address the changing dynamics of international security across the globe.

    The CSIS Americas Program is looking for a highly organized, detail oriented, responsive, and entrepreneurial individual to serve as a Program Coordinator. This position is not term limited.

    The Program Coordinator will support program operations, program development, outreach efforts, and will take the lead on event preparation and management. They will also support research and writing of concept notes, policy briefs, commentaries, and reports, among others. The Program Coordinator will report to the Program Manager of the Americas Program.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

    • Organize, staff, and track program events, including private roundtables, public events, multi-day conferences, etc. both in-person and virtually. • Coordinate all event logistics, including – but not limited to- identifying speakers, preparing, and sending speaker and participant invitations, coordination with CSIS A/V and conferencing teams, writing event memos, and drafting other supporting documentation. • Schedule and support internal and external team meetings. • Serve as Program liaison with other programs and administrative departments to coordinate events, publications, meetings, cross-program activities, etc. • Support day-to-day operations of the office, including maintaining program database, managing programmatic and staff expenses, and maintenance of program outreach material. • Support senior staff with arranging travel and expense management. • Maintain and update documentation of all staff and affiliates. • Coordinate publishing of program articles, reports, etc., including copyediting, liaising with graphic design team, and managing publication dissemination. • Draft and edit program publications, including program newsletters. • Manage dissemination of all necessary products to appropriate listservs, including listservs to over 20,000 subscribers. • Manage and maintain program's social media presence. • Support preparation of reports, presentations, and program publications. • Conduct research to advance Program priorities. • Contribute to the development of the overall program research agenda through data/trend analysis and project research and writing as needed.

    KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:

    • B.A./B.S. required. • 2-3 years related operational and administrative experience. • Solid organizational and time management skills. • Experience with event planning and management. • Strong computer skills, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and social media and web-based research tools. • Ability to work cooperatively with a range of individuals with diverse interests, backgrounds, dispositions, and executive levels. • Outstanding writing skills. • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as a team. • Spanish language fluency highly desired; Portuguese language fluency is a plus • Interest in Latin American political issues.

    MINIMUM REQUIRED:

    • Master’s degree in one of several related degrees listed below.
    • Also allowed, a Master’s degree in any field, plus 18 graduate credits in one of the related degrees listed below.
