Position Overview: The Systems Administrator manages the operational stability, security, and compliance of a federal Data System, hosted in a FedRAMP-authorized AWS environment. This role handles system maintenance, configuration management, and vendor coordination, ensuring 99% uptime and compliance with federal standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain system functionality for data entry, reports, and API connections, resolving performance issues promptly.
Perform routine backups, apply patches, and manage configuration changes with OIRM approval.
Monitor system stability, analyzing utilization patterns and reporting monthly findings.
Manage AWS hosting environment, tracking FedRAMP compliance and coordinating with Tyler Technologies.
Maintain access logs, user roles, and permissions, ensuring compliance with Rules of Behavior.
Support system decommissioning, ensuring secure retirement of SIRS and STARS.
Act as a vendor liaison, communicating technical needs and resolving hosting issues.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
3+ years of experience in system administration, including Java, Tomcat, SQL, and AWS environments.
Experience in managing federal data systems.
Knowledge of FedRAMP, configuration management, and cybersecurity protocols.
Strong troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and vendor communication skills.
Ability to document technical processes and maintain compliance records.
Preferred Certifications:
AWS Certified Solutions Architect
CompTIA Security+ or equivalent
