    Overview

    Position Title: Systems Administrator

    Location: Annapolis Junction, MD

    Reports To: Program Manager / Team Lead

    Job Type: Full-time

    Clearance Requirement: Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

    Summary:

    As a Systems Administrator for a recently awarded government contract, you are the backbone of the technical infrastructure that keeps mission-critical operations running without a hitch. We are looking for a proactive problem-solver who views "uptime" as a personal mission and enjoys the challenge of maintaining complex, high-stakes environments. You will ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our systems, providing the stable foundation upon which our developers and analysts build the future.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide multi-tiered technical support (Tier 1 Help Desk through complex Tier 2/3 escalation) for implementation, troubleshooting, and daily operations of IT systems, infrastructure, client/server/storage/network equipment, and mobile devices.
    • Configure, manage, and maintain UNIX and Windows operating systems, installing core software and implementing enhancements to maximize operational performance, reliability, and integrity.
    • Optimize system operations, conduct resource capacity analysis, and orchestrate infrastructure interdependencies within a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) environment.
    • Deliver strategic analysis for escalated service tickets, coordinate comprehensive hardware/software system installations, and troubleshoot complex server hardware integration challenges.
    • Support the overarching design of mission architectures, system layouts, and associated hardware components.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required
    • 5+ years of additional experience as a Systems Administrator may be substituted for a Bachelors degree.

    Experience:

    • SA1: 5+ years of experience in System Administration on programs or projects of similar scope, type, and complexity.
    • SA2: 10+ years of experience in System Administration on programs or projects of similar scope, type, and complexity.
    • SA3: 15+ years of experience in System Administration on programs or projects of similar scope, type, and complexity.

    Skills:

    • Operating Systems: Comprehensive administration of UNIX and Windows operating environments.
    • Infrastructure & Security: Deep experience installing, configuring, and testing system security parameters (including container security, virtual machine security, and strict security boundary enforcement).
    • Core Tools & Frameworks: High proficiency with infrastructure deployment and reporting tools, specifically ELK, Tripwire, VMware, and the RedHat SELinux security tool suite.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to travel as required.
    • Standard office environment with occasional requirements to visit client sites, labs, or field environments.
