Location: In-person + Remote (Community-Based & Work-from-Home) Schedule: Approximately 7 hours per week
3.5 hours in-person with client
3.5 hours remote (documentation, planning, and program implementation)
We are seeking a dedicated Systematic Skill Builder (SSB) to support an adult with autism in developing independence and increasing community participation. This role combines direct in-person support with remote planning and documentation time to create and implement individualized skill-building strategies.
The ideal candidate is compassionate, structured, and experienced in working with individuals with autism or intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD), and is comfortable using evidence-based teaching methods.
Key Responsibilities
Direct Support (In-Person – 3.5 hrs/week)
Provide one-on-one support to an adult with autism in home and/or community settings
Teach and reinforce daily living skills, including:
Meal preparation
Cleaning and home organization
Personal routines (morning/evening)
Support development of social, communication, and community navigation skills
Model appropriate behaviors and provide consistent, structured guidance
Program Development & Documentation (Remote – 3.5 hrs/week)
Assess learning style and individual needs to develop Skill Building Plans (SBPs)
Implement evidence-based strategies, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques
Monitor progress using data collection methods (e.g., Goal Attainment Scaling)
Adjust plans based on progress and ongoing assessment
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with program standards
Collaboration & Training
Communicate regularly with family members, caregivers, and other providers
Provide guidance and coaching to support consistent skill implementation across environments
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s Degree in:
Minimum 3 years of experience working with individuals with autism or IDD preferred
Strong understanding of behavior-based teaching strategies
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively between in-person and remote tasks
Must have a personal vehicle with up-to-date car documentation
Preferred
Completion of Pennsylvania MyODP Systematic Skill Building Training and other related trainings ongoing
Experience developing individualized treatment or skill-building plans
Strong data collection and documentation skills
Compensation
$25.00-$30.00 hourly, based on experience and qualifications
