Systems Administrator, Lyra Technology Group
Lyra Technology Group is looking for a full-time Systems Administrator to join the team at one of our operating companies, Strategic Micro Systems in Parsippany, NJ. The Systems Administrator will work on a wide variety of technical issues relating to Microsoft desktop and server support for small and mid-sized businesses. You will interface directly with end users who may be having difficulty or require assistance with their computer systems or network infrastructure. Working in a team environment, you will work under the guidance of Technical Coordinators who help ensure a streamlined workflow and ticket management process.

Headquartered in NJ, we are currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Systems Administrator. System Administrators work as part of our Service Desk in providing technical support to Strategic customers in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Your work as the Systems Administrator includes several components:
• Provide first-tier support to end users for Windows PCs, Laptops, and Workstations, printers, mobile devices, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, or basic application and hardware and software troubleshooting.
• Provide customer-centric response to requests from the Service Desk via telephone, web portal email, chat to ensure courteous, timely, and effective resolution of end-user issues.
• Utilize remote access solutions to provide support for Virtual Desktop platforms including Azure Virtual Desktop, Remote Desktop Services (Terminal Services), and VPN.
• Follow-up on open tickets & keep clients & coordinators informed of any updates to their tickets along the way.
• Record, track, and document all support information within our ticketing system.
• Collaborate with other members of the team to identify solutions to customer support requests and escalate to more senior team members or external resources as needed.
• Add users, remove users, reset passwords, and change folder permissions.
• Troubleshoot issues for Active Directory, VPN Clients, Microsoft 365, Windows OS, laptop and desktop hardware, Threat Protection & Anti-Virus software, Spam Filtering, and Microsoft Office
Our ideal Systems Administrator has the following technical qualifications:
• At least 2 years of related IT experience, ideally working with external clients in the Managed Services or IT Services industry.
• Stellar written/verbal communication and customer service skills to successfully maintain a high level of collaboration and interaction with clients and co-workers.
• An ability to diffuse difficult situations with angry or unpleasant clients on a regular basis.
• A strong attention to detail so work is accurate and complete.
• Sound judgement and decision-making skills in order to make key decisions that affect client without always being able to consult with a supervisor or co-worker.
• The ability to deliver excellence independently and excel in a fast-paced, occasionally high stress Service level Agreement (SLA) driven environment.
• The ability to multitask and perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature.
• The ability to maintain concentration and focus on a collaborative, open work environment, working within close proximity to peers with varying noise levels and interruptions.
• The availability of working flexible hours, which may include night shifts and/or weekends.
• An Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field preferred
• Preferred Technical Certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft 365, Apple Certified Associate and Apple Certified Support Professional.
The targeted base compensation for this role is $55,000-66,000 per year and will operate out of the Parsippany, NJ office.
