I. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES
Understands business objectives and problems, identifies alternative solutions, performs studies and cost/benefit analysis of alternatives. Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing computer system: Confers with personnel of organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements, such as forms of data input, how data is to be; summarized, and formats for reports.
Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer program. Reviews computer system capabilities, specifications, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system.
The Java EE Developer are expected to contribute to the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-grade applications using Java EE technologies, while aligning with HHSC’s goals of modularity, security, and interoperability.

Note : Expected Start Date 01/19/2026 and Expected End Date 08/31/2026. May be renewed up to 3 years.
Position will be 2 days remote with 3 days (Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays) required to be onsite. Program will only allow candidates who are LOCAL TO THE AUSTIN AREA (Within 50-mile radius).
Normal business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM , excluding State holidays when the agency is closed.
