This role is ideal for someone with strong technical fundamentals, a methodical approach to problem solving, and a passion for building and maintaining secure, reliable systems. Our ideal candidate is a clear communicator who can work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, understands how systems support security and compliance objectives, and approaches engineering work with a service-oriented mindset. This role will support our clients by designing, configuring, maintaining, and validating IT systems, ensuring environments are secure, scalable, and aligned with operational and regulatory requirements.

This is a full-time position that is fully remote. Due to the nature of our work, you must be a U.S. citizen with eligibility for a clearance. No exceptions.

A day in the Systems Engineer role: The Systems Engineer may design and implement system configurations, troubleshoot infrastructure and endpoint issues, review environments against security and operational requirements, and support ongoing system improvements. They will work hands-on with identity and access management, endpoint management platforms, logging and monitoring tools, CICD tools, and cloud services to ensure systems are reliable and secure.

A Systems Engineer will collaborate to ensure systems are implemented and maintained in a way that supports regulatory requirements such as CMMC and NIST 800-171. They will participate in meetings, assist with technical guidance, support implementation efforts, support remediation efforts, and contribute to documentation that reflects system states. The role also provides opportunities to learn new technologies, deepen cloud and security expertise, and grow into more senior engineering or technical leadership roles.

    Responsibilities:

    • Design, deploy, configure, and maintain secure, reliable systems across client and internal environments, including servers, endpoints, identity platforms, and cloud services.
    • Operate and support production systems by troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure, platform, and endpoint issues, collaborating and escalating as necessary to meet service and security expectations.
    • Review, validate, and maintain system configurations (e.g., identity and access management, logging and monitoring, encryption, network segmentation, endpoint protection, backup and recovery) to ensure alignment with security, operational, and compliance requirements.
    • Implement and maintain system hardening standards, configuration baselines, patching processes, and lifecycle management practices.
    • Contribute to the execution and continuous improvement of Platforms Team objectives, including system reliability, scalability, and sustainability.
    • Communicate clearly and effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders via written and verbal channels to explain system behavior, proposed changes, risks, and remediation actions.
    • Develop and maintain accurate system documentation, diagrams, runbooks, and standard operating procedures that support operational consistency and audit readiness.
    • Support the development and maintenance of internal tooling, templates, and repeatable build processes to improve system consistency, efficiency, and security posture.
