    Role Overview:

    Intramotev is seeking Systems Engineering Internship candidates to join the engineering team supporting growing demands in the development of autonomous, self-propelled rail vehicles. This full-time, in-office paid position, based in St. Louis, MO, will contribute to developing innovative solutions through all phases of the systems development lifecycle. Responsibilities will include supporting operational assessments, customer performance requirements, system requirements, design architectures, interface management, integration, testing, verification, validation, and customer delivery.

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Supports systems development across diverse functional teams.
    • Assists in system requirements management and cross-functional systems allocation/decomposition.
    • Contributes to managing systems architectures and configurations.
    • Supports managing interface architectures, definitions, and control.
    • Assists in intra-system design decisions and managing cross-functional system dependencies.
    • Participates in defining and conducting systems integration processes.
    • Contributes to defining and leading systems test plans, verification, and validation.
    • Supports regulatory certifications and safety-critical validations.

    About You:

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

    • Working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Science.
    • This internship is open to students after completing their sophomore or junior years of school, as well as graduate students.
    • Previous internship, university research, or extra-curricular experience with integrated systems.
    • Familiarity with systems engineering development lifecycle concepts for integrated hardware and software systems.
    • U.S. Person (immigration or work visa sponsorship will not be provided).
    • Fluent in both written and verbal English.

    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

    Candidate should have a working knowledge of one or (ideally) multiple areas listed below:

    • Experience in requirements management, systems architecture, model-based design, interface management, systems integration, test, verification, and validation.
    • Familiarity with safety-critical systems development.
    • Experience in the development and verification of autonomous systems.
    • Knowledge of railway systems.
    • Experience working in Agile environments.
    • MATLAB/Simulink experience.

    Typical Education and Experience:

    Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 1 or more years' related work (internship/cooperative work) or university course projects experience.
