    BVA Bears IT Solutions is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Defense Automatic Addressing SME (DAAS SME) - Systems Integration Specialist to support and enhance our IT solutions for government and contractor environments. This role will focus on ensuring that applications and systems meet accessibility requirements and deliver a high level of performance. The specialist will also travel to government or contractor sites as necessary.

    BVA Bear is seeking a highly skilled DAAS SME - Systems Integration Specialist to lead the integration, modernization, and optimization of Defense Automatic Addressing System (DAAS) transactions and Defense Logistics Management Standards (DLMS) conversions. This role applies Agile methodologies to enhance collaboration, streamline processes, and deliver value incrementally. The ideal candidate will have expertise in legacy Military Standard (MILS) transactions, modernized Electronic Commerce (EC) systems, and secure communication protocols, with a strong emphasis on DLMS conversion and compliance with evolving defense logistics standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Legacy Transaction Management:

    Support and manage Military Standard (MILS) transactions, including:

    80 record position formatted transactions.

    Extended MILS/record position formats exceeding 80 characters.

    Apply expertise in MILSTRIP, MILSTRAP, MILSBILLS, and MILSCAP functional business domains.

    DLMS Conversion Expertise:

    Lead Agile teams in converting legacy transactions to DLMS formats, ensuring incremental delivery of functional improvements.

    Ensure data accuracy, compatibility, and compliance with DLMS standards across all transaction types.

    Modernized EC Integration:

    Develop and manage modernized EC transaction frameworks, including DLMS, XML, User Defined Formats (UDF), Intermediate Document (IDoc), and ASC X12 EDI standards.

    Use Agile sprints to integrate and enhance EC transactions incrementally, ensuring compliance with evolving defense standards.

    Secure Communication Facilitation:

    Implement and facilitate secure communication methods to support transaction processing, including:

    Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP).

    Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS).

    Applicability Statement 2 (AS2).

    IBM® Messaging Queue (MQ).

    Data Processing and Exchange Optimization:

    Use Agile ceremonies (e.g., daily stand-ups, sprint reviews) to prioritize and optimize systems for secure and efficient data exchange.

    Troubleshoot and resolve legacy and modern transaction processing systems within sprint cycles.

    Collaboration and Documentation:

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders using Agile frameworks to define, refine, and deliver solutions incrementally.

    Document integration processes, standards, and best practices in a dynamic and iterative format.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

    Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with: (MILSTRIP, MILSTRAP, MILSBILLS, and MILSCAP transactions; DLMS, XML, UDF, IDoc, and ASC X12 EDI standards; Legacy 80 record position formatted transactions and extended formats)

    Proven expertise in DLMS conversion for all transaction types.

    Proficiency in Agile methodologies, including experience working in Agile teams or environments.

    Strong proficiency in secure communication methods, including SFTP, HTTPS, AS2, and IBM® MQ.

    Solid understanding of defense logistics and transaction standards.

    Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

    Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced Agile environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    ICAM Implementation Experience: Familiarity with the DoD Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) framework. Experience integrating modernized DAAS solutions with ABAC and RBAC requirements for access and execution privileges.

    Internal Controls Expertise: Knowledge of implementing internal controls to safeguard data integrity, accuracy, and completeness per DoDI 8510.01 "DoD Risk Management Framework" and other Federal/DoD standards.

    Experience with defense or government contract systems.

    Certifications in secure file transfer protocols or EDI standards.

    Knowledge of database management and integration tools.
