    Job Title: Systems Support Specialist (SSS)

    Locations: McAllen, Corpus Christi
    Employment Type: Contract
    Reports To: IT Manager or Designated Government Representative

    Position Summary:

    The Systems Support Specialist (SSS) is responsible for providing technical support for computer systems, networks, and peripherals in a federal office environment. This role ensures seamless operation of IT infrastructure by assisting users, resolving issues, and maintaining system performance in support of the mission of the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Texas.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide troubleshooting assistance and problem resolution for PCs, servers, and Local Area Networks (LANs).
    • Install, configure, and test personal computers, printers, and peripheral equipment.
    • Offer technical support for desktop hardware and software applications via phone, email, or in person.
    • Coordinate repairs and maintenance with appropriate parties; perform diagnostics to identify issues.
    • Deliver training and user support for standard applications and office automation tools.
    • Maintain and support IT systems in compliance with DOJ standards.
    • Evaluate system configurations and software for efficiency and performance.
    • Serve as a help desk point of contact for users experiencing IT-related issues.

    Qualifications:

    • Experience in direct end-user technical support, both in-person and via telephone.
    • Proficient in PC hardware, operating systems, networking, and telecommunications environments.
    • Prior experience with automated litigation support systems preferred.
    • Experience with DOJ office automation tools is highly desirable.
    • Strong communication skills, including professional telephone etiquette.
    • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
    • Prior training or teaching experience related to IT applications is a plus.
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
