    Job Description

    SUMMARY

    Engineering Technicians provide skilled technical support for all engineering development and test efforts. This position works closely with the engineering teams, operations staff and other technicians on mechanical assembly, test planning, test set-up and execution. Reports to the Lead Engineering Technician.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Performs and oversees test setup and test conduct, supports a wide variety of ongoing engineering projects
    • Executes tests to established standards, customer specifications and internal procedures
    • Uses basic hand tools and power tools to perform and/or oversee mechanical assembly and testing
    • Establishes good working relationship with customers, engineers and other technicians
    • Reads and understands blueprints, schematics and technical diagrams
    • Assists with facility projects as needed

    REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Required: High School diploma
    • Preferred: Associate's Degree or higher
    • Candidates typically possess at least 3 years of experience in a technical manufacturing and test environment, including hardware assembly and product  development testing
    • All candidates should be proficient with basic hand and power tools, and possess a strong mechanical aptitude
    • Preferred experience includes Military/DoD/Aerospace Research & Development, a solid understanding all aspects of environmental testing, knowledge of test instrumentation and data acquisition setup
    • All candidates should demonstrate an exceptional work ethic, combined with solid team collaboration and communication skills
    • Physical requirements of this position include moderate physical and repetitious work, standing for extended periods of time, the use of stairs and occasional heavy lifting
    • Basic proficiency with computers, and familiarity with common office applications required
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen
