Human Resources Specialist
The Human Resources Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting employees, driving HR excellence, and implementing process improvements. You will advise and counsel leaders and managers on complex employee relations issues and assist in developing their leadership style and management effectiveness.
Essential Responsibilities
- Partner with remote staff and local management to maintain a positive and engaging work environment.
- Provide HR expertise in various areas, including employee relations, learning and development, benefits, and payroll.
- Lead and direct HR functions, such as selection, hiring, and employee development.
- Advise managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and practices to promote an ethical and compliant workplace.
- Develop HR policies and programs that foster positive employee relations.
- Collaborate with the management team to address employee issues, including progressive disciplines, terminations, leave of absence, ADA requests, benefits eligibility, promotions, and employee recognition programs.
- Provide dedicated guidance and coaching to managers and employees.
- Utilize recruiting experience to attract and retain top talent.
- Ensure the hiring of the best possible candidates.
- Enhance and implement effective recruiting, screening, and selection methods.
- Oversee the onboarding of new hires.
- Coach managers and supervisors on various HR topics, including recruiting, retention, talent management, employee development, and organizational change.
- Manage salary and hourly pay plans and performance appraisal programs.
- Develop the HR department's annual budget.
- Conduct thorough and objective investigations of employee relations, performance, and policy violation issues.
- Recommend countermeasures to resolve employee relations issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.
- Minimum of four years of experience as an HR generalist.
- Multi-site experience AND industrial manufacturing is a plus.
- Excellent planning, analytical, and policy skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and provide leadership on a wide range of HR topics.
- Strong computer skills, including experience with internet research, payroll (ADP), word processing, and spreadsheet applications.
- Proficient in MS Office tools and resources, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Experience with HRIS and training software systems is preferred.
