We are seeking a Senior Buyer (Commodity Buyer) for steel that will support our manufacturing locations. 

This position involves the strategic sourcing and procurement of steel products to meet the company's production and operational needs. The Commodity Buyer collaborates with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to ensure a reliable and cost-effective supply of steel while maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Identify, evaluate, and select steel suppliers based on factors such as price, quality, lead times, and capacity to meet organizational requirements.
  

• Build and maintain strong relationships with steel suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing performance to ensure the timely and reliable supply of steel materials.
  

• Collaborate with quality control and assurance teams to ensure the purchased steel materials meet the required specifications and standards.

• Monitor and manage steel inventory levels to minimize excess or shortage, optimizing working capital while ensuring uninterrupted production.

• Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes related to steel, and adjust procurement strategies accordingly.

• Negotiate supply agreements and contracts with steel suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the organization.

   

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field.
• Steel procurement and negotiation experience.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Knowledge of steel industry trends and market dynamics.
