Job Description

The purpose of an Operations Internship is to introduce them to the day-to-day life of being on a team in a brokerage environment working closely with a team of an Account Manager and Logistics Coordinator. They will be introduced to the Value driven culture of TA Services, the freight industry and market conditions, along our daily brokerage operations.

Qualifications

DAY TO DAY: The day to day of an Operations Internship will consist of participating in all stages of the life-cycle of an order. They will assist with building customer orders in the Mcleod TMS, scheduling pick up and delivery appointments at shipping and receiving locations, negotiating rates and booking loads with carrier partners, and tracking and tracing loads using many forms of communication, such as email, phone and Macro Point location services. They will provide timely updates to our customer partners and incorporate the problem solving skills needed to ensure on-time pick-up and on-time delivery of all loads. They will be held accountable for ensuring that all customer SLAs are met and that we are meeting all KPI standards.

PROJECT: There are many projects that could take place during an operations internship. Many would be based on a customer’s specific needs and current challenges. One example of a project would be to build a network of loyal carrier partners on a specific lane to ensure we continue providing extraordinary service to our customers. The goal would be for all interns to present their project to their reporting managers along with the TA Services executive leadership team.
