    Job Description

    International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) establishes controls regarding the export and import of defense-related items and services that appear on the United States Munitions List (USML).To be International Traffic in Arms Regulations compliant, this position is required to be filled by a U.S. Person, as defined under Federal Regulations.

    Summary:

    The Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for overseeing all Continuous Improvement activities through the development and enhancement of the current lean principals, including; 5s, Kaizen, A3, Standard Work, VSM, Problem Solving, Layout optimization, Cost Savings and New Business Implementations.

    Job Description:

    • Develop engineered standards for various warehouse processes, create KPIs and targets for operations.
    • Drives rigorous deployment and use of metrics for all functions, resulting in clear direction for continuous improvement efforts.
    • Identify process improvement opportunities, Coordinate project resources on identified improvement projects; plan, execute, and perform project management responsibilities as assigned.
    • Provide solutions for engineering problems on warehouse processes, facilities, & IT-WMS systems based on activity levels, product flow, and transportation methods. Identify appropriate material handling and storage equipment based on product type & facility layouts.
    • Determine start-up and ongoing personnel requirements based on activity levels and product profile; identify management and supervisory requirements for Operations personnel.
    • Provide lean methodology expertise for warehouse wide deployment, including core tools: 5s, Kaizen, A3, Standard Work, VSM, Problem Solving & Layout optimization.
    • Use appropriate measurements, analysis, and evaluation methods to accurately identify and document process improvements financially.
    • Monitor the progress of planned improvement implementation to assure timely action, and achievement of expected tangible benefits.
    • Communication within the organization at all levels, from individual contributors to leadership level.
    • Create, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures & help with ISO certification.

    Desired Skills and Experience:

    • Strong mathematical skills to help collect, measure, organize and analyze data.
    • Knowledge of programming languages like SQL, Oracle, DAX, C++ Technical proficiency regarding database design development, data models, techniques for data mining, and segmentation.
    • Proficient in microsoft office programs; Excel, Access, PowerBI, PowerPoint, Word Position requires great flexibility and availability due to varied work schedule
    • Knowledge of warehouse management systems – Oracle, ASC Trac, HighJump, High resistance to stress stemming from tight deadlines and unexpected situations.
    • Willing to work cross functionally
    • Able to work effectively with varied levels of management and individual contributors
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Six Sigma knowledge

    Qualifications

    • This is a full-time Salary position. There is occasional overtime based on the need of the business. On call support 24/7.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other related fields
    • 1-3 years experience in an Engineering/Continuous Improvement Role

    Additional Information

    Pay: $55,000- $70,000.00
